| Advice: |
Only use clean, uncontaminated sandblasting medium. Blasting with a slightly coarser grain size will increase the surface area of the metal providing better retention for the ceramic bond.

Use an oxide bake to check the framework. Firing times: Final temperature = Opaque – firing temperature of the ceramic to be used, holding time 5 min.

| Tip: |
An oxide bake can be carried out in order to check the cast metal. An even oxide layer illustrates a clean metal framework. Sandblast and clean the framework before continuing with the ceramic build-up!
