Cast Partial Dentures

Preparation of the model for duplication (upper and lower)

Preparing the saddle for relining

Either self adhesive or normal sheet wax can be used for covering the saddle area.

  • minimal thickness 0.5 mm

Cut the boundary with a scalpel to leave a sharp edge. This gives the acrylic better retention to the metal framework when the denture is finished. Adapt a wax spacer of approx. 0.2 mm under the sublingual bar!

Always integrate a stop into the lower, free-end saddle area of a partial denture! This keeps the metal framework stable during the finishing stage!

It is not necessary to melt self adhesive sheet wax to the plaster model. Block-out undercuts resulting from scarring and tooth extraction with wax beforehand.
